Yoga Festival in Rishikesh
International Yoga Festival was started in the year 1999 in Rishikesh, Parmarth Niketan Ashram. The early meditative classes were held under the guidance of Pujya Shri Swami Veda Bharat Ji, while the Yoga asanas were taught by Yogacharya Shri Bharat Bhushan Ji.
Our mission is to create such a platform where all traditional and modern styles of yoga can come together and learn from each other.
The International Yoga Festival, Rishikesh is a celebration of Yoga, the age old Indian science of health and wellness. The great sage Patanjali, penned down the science, laid down the minute rules and techniques of the activity. Yoga was primarily developed as a medium to attain harmony of body, mind and soul. Yoga is not just different yogic postures or breathing techniques, it is a way of life.
The celebration of Yoga, International Yoga Festival is a harmonious event organized on the shores of River Ganges amid a spiritual ambience, created by the holy River Ganga. The festival seeks to promote harmony of the body, mind and soul. It practices some of the very ancient techniques and sessions of the art of yoga and meditation. It prominent features include sessions on Pranayama, Hatha Yoga and Yog Nidra.
Along with all branches of Yoga, there are numerous meditative sessions of Agnihotra, Ajapa Japa, Antar Mauna, Chakra Sudhi, Chidakasha Dharma. All sessions are carried on by experienced yoga practitioners in the ashram complex.
The International Yoga Festival is one of the largest event of its kind. Rishikesh buzzes all week long during the festival with an unparalleled experience as time-tested masters of Traditional Yoga Lineages from India. Yoga lovers and practitioners participate in different sessions of Yoga classes where you can get all authentic lessons and information regarding Yoga. Apart from India, the masters of global Yoga schools and styles will also be here to take yoga and meditation classes.
